How to Change Front Brake pads and Rotors Kia Sedona

How To Change Brake Pads and Rotors on 2006-2010 Kia Sedona

Here is a link to a great priced parts on amazon quality ceramic pads

Tools Needed
  •  Ratchet
  • 21mm socket or lugnut remover bar
  • 17mm socket
  • 14mm socket
  • Flat head screwdriver
  • Philips screwdriver or impact screwdriver
  • C- clamp or caliper tool
  • Jack and jack stands
  • Hammer

First finda safe spot to jack up the car and place a jack stand under a secure spot under the car.

Remove the 6 - 21mm lugs

Once the tire and rim is removed you will see this.

On the back side of the caliper you will see 2 - 14mm bolts.
Remove these 2 bolts

Use a flat head screw driver the gently pry the caliper off the brake pads.

Once the caliper is removed place it somewhere so that it does not hang from the hose. Some people use a hanger and bend it to keep it from hanging from the hose. I simply place it where it will not fall.

Once the caliper is secure use the flat head screw driver and slid the brake pads off.

Next you must remove the caliper bracket. It is held on with just 2 - 17mm bolts on the back side of the bracket.

Next we must remove the 2 Philips screws holding the rotor on.
they can be very hard to remove sometimes. I use a impact screwdriver with a hammer.
If this does not work then you can drill them out.
These screws do not have to be reinstalled. They are installed while the car is going down the assembly line to keep the rotor from coming off before the brakes get put on.

A few taps with a hammer and the old rotor should come off.

If you put the 2 screws back in the rotor i recommend using some ant-seize to keep those scrws from giving you trouble getting off in the future.

Before reinstalling the caliper bracket you want to make sure the caliper sliders and well greased, and not sticking.
simply pull on the slider untill it pops out of the boot.
Add grease and reinsert it.
If you can not get it to come out at all that is a problem and the caliper bracket needs to be replaced.

Reinstall the caliper bracket back on.
put a few dabs of grease at each tab where the brake pads will be sliding in to keep them from sticking.
Slide in the new brake pads

Use the C clamp to slowly push the pistons on the caliper back in.
Check for any tears in the rubber boots or any brake fluid leaking. If there is the caliper will need replaced or rebuilt.

You may have to go back and fourth until both are all the way in.
it should not be difficult to push them back in. If you are really struggling to get them to slide back in. the caliper will need replaced or rebuilt. There is probably corrosion inside.
Once the pistons are back in simply slide the caliper back over the brake pads and reinstall the 2 14mm bolts.

Reinstall the rim and you are ready to start the other side.

Just repeat same process for the other side.

After you are finished pump the brakes a few times until you feel you have a solid brake before pulling the van out of park.

NOW GO RELAX AND REWARD YOURSELF FOR DOING A GREAT JOB AND SAVING SOME MONEY.

How To Replace Hyundai Sonata Fuel Pump Replacement 2004 - 2010

2004-2010 Hyundai Sonata Fuel Pump Replacement

This blog is not responsible for any damages or injuries caused by following these steps

Tools needed:
- Hammer
- couple flat head screw drivers
- phillips screw driver

The part needed click link below
Click here to buy fuel pump now

Deprime the fuel line and disconnect the battery for safety.

GOOD NEWS YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DROP THE TANK.

First open the trunk and pull the carpet cover off.

You will see the cover for the fuel tank in the very back of the trunk.

It can also be accessed from inside the car behind the rear passenger side seat.

Remove the 4 philips screws holding the cover plate over the fuel pump.

Once the plate is removed you will see the top of the tank and the fuel pump does not line up directly to the hole but it will fit through.

You will need to unplug the 2 plugs to get the plate out of the way.

Next you will need to remove the 2 fuel lines
the one with the green clip push in on the front part of the clip and it will slid off.

The orange clip you must first slide the orange clip back.
Next push in on the yellow tabs on both sides and pull up.

once the hoses and plugs have been removed, clean the area around to keep from contaminants falling into the tank.
Then use a screwdriver and a hammer to tap off the ring around the fuel pump.
It is recommended to use a brass hammer and chisel for this to prevent sparks.
The ring will turn counter clockwise to screw off, by pounding on these areas.

If rusted out to badly you can purchase a new one at Autozone

Once the ring is off you can begin pulling the fuel pump out
by turning and twisting it will eventually come out.
Be careful not to mess up the fuel level sensor.
Also be careful not to lose the o ring down in the tank as well,
and when reinstalling make sure the
o ring is seated properly at the top of the tank.

With the pump out now you must pull the pump assembly apart to replace the pump itself.

First, unplug the 2 plugs on the bottom side of the top of the pump assembly.

Next, remove the clip holding this part onto the assembly.

Now go around with a screwdriver and pop off the outer shell of the fuel pump assembly.

I used a flat head Craftsmen screw driver to pry out and up to pop the 3 taps out.

You will then end up with 2 separate parts.

Now the very bottom of the inside part has 4 clips that also must be popped out in order to get the fuel pump out.

Again use a flathead screwdriver in order to remove the cap.

Once removed the fuel pump will come right out.

The last thing you will need to pull the strainer off the bottom of the pump.
it is removed by simply pulling it down and it will slid off.
It is recommended to replace this strainer as well. It also can be found at your local Autozone store.

Repeat all these steps in reverse to put it all back together.

How to replace the alternator on a 2001-2004 Ford escape v6 the easy way

How to remove the alternator in a 2001-2004 Ford Escape the easy way.
Parts needed

Tools needed
Jack Jack stands
3/8 ratchet
8mm socket
10mm socket
13mm socket
extention
pliers
philips screw driver
Lug nut remover

First thing disconnect the battery using 8mm socket.
Step by step on how to remove the battery

Next jack the escape up on the passenger side and place jack stand under for safety.

Remove the passenger wheel

Here you will find 2 10mm bolts and 1 phillips screw that must be removed to gain acess to where the alternator and pullys are

Also on the bottom of the escape near the front the plastic cover continues
under the car it is removed with 3 10mm bolts

Once the plastic removed you will now see the alternator.

Now we need  to remove the belt off the alternator
find the tensioner and use a 3/8 drive ratchet to loosen the tensioner as you remove the belt.

I was unable to get clear pictures of the alternator
but there are 3 13mm bolts holding the alternator onto the engine.
There are also a plug and one wire bolted on by a 10mm nut.

once all is disconnected and unplugged the fastest way to get this off is to go straight up the top.

To make room you must unbolt the computer and and unplug it, and disconnect the following hoses

Next you must remove the oval canister below it.
It is removed by 2 10mm bolts and there are 2 hoses that must be disconnect from it.
Simply just pull on the hoses to disconnect them.
also unplug the 2 plugs near the hoses.

One more plug down deep between the firewall and engine is a green plug that must be unplugged and pulled to the side.

now you are ready to fish the alternator starit from the bottom all the way to the top between the firewall and engine.

It is a tight fit but wiggle and move around and it will eventually make its way up.

Easiest way i found to pull it up is pully facing up.

once you pulled the alternator up and out you simply place the new one back down and reverse the steps above.
